The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extensive Service are planning two remote Produce Safety Alliance Grower Trainings this December. Growers can choose either Option #1 (2 days), or Option #2 (4 evenings).

This Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved course will satisfy the grower training curriculum requirements under the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule. There is no charge for class participants. Funding is provided by a FDA-State of Alaska Cooperative Agreement. Growers who attend the entirety of the course will receive a FREE Certificate of Course Completion. The workshops are open to all interested growers. Due to COVID-19 concerns, this training will be held remotely using Zoom videoconferencing. All participants must be comfortable using this platform. Participants must also have strong internet connectivity, as well as a functioning computer or mobile device with both video and audio capabilities.  In order to be eligible for the Certificate of Course Completion, participants must be present for all course modules. Attendees who wish to receive this certificate will be asked to turn on their cameras so attendance and engagement can be monitored.

Space will be limited, so pre-registration is required. Registration for both courses closes Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020.
